Early Snow<\/span><\/h2>\n

Today apples tumble
\nas wind tears them from trees,
\nand they bounce and roll
\nin the dying grass<\/p>\n

as though you were here again
\ngathering fruit
\nwith your calloused hands,
\nyour enormous eyes half-closed<\/p>\n

coming over the hill
\nbringing the early snow,
\nyou who crossed the border,
\nwho passed into darkness and night.<\/p>\n
