Three Miracles<\/span><\/h2>\n

The water that has since washed them away<\/p>\n

-those structures built by my daughter, carefully or with abandon depending on the day-<\/p>\n

leaves patterns in the dirt,<\/p>\n

waves and trails and hiccups that become, after a sincere but brief mourning period,<\/p>\n

landscapes for new adventures<\/p>\n

in this extra fine dirt with an inexplicable sparkle, fairy dust as she dances through it-<\/p>\n

a deserted construction site miracle, this dancing- and<\/p>\n

then yesterday, she said, \u201cMom! My mountain. It\u2019s still there\u201d and I see that<\/p>\n

it had survived a downpour and I,<\/p>\n

well, I<\/p>\n

let her think it was another miracle<\/p>\n

instead of swiping on my phone to teach her how cement hardens under water,<\/p>\n

trusting<\/p>\n

that years from now,<\/p>\n

she will forgive me.<\/p>\n
