how deep the water, or how cold,
\nor the color of boats
\nsailing behind the orange moon,
\nor the timbre of voices you heard
\nlast night in that dream of home,
\nor the many names on that hard,
\nwhite list of your dead friends,
\nor the delightful tang of apple
\nand peach, blueberry and tangerine,
\npineapple and pear which haunt
\nyour memory on the hottest days,
\nand it doesn\u2019t signify that you
\nhave hiked eleven miles today
\nor that you have two green sweaters,
\nand nobody cares if the grass
\nin your yard has sprouted a hundred
\nthousand dandelions, because even
\nin the most extreme cases, you will
\nstand before your mirror, stunned
\nby a face you once recognized as your own.<\/p>\n
