to the loamy garden beneath,
but the next morning it’d sprung up on roots
and now it tapped at the window,
asking if I’d heard the latest about Kanye,
shouting its rough-edged political opinions,
slyly whispering the name of the only
hemorrhoid cream that could provide true relief.
