Andrew McIver
Spirit Work
She floats like a ghost from room
to room, so much so that you may
not know she’s there, but the cup has
been moved, the laundry put away, the
stack of books reordered, the fan left on,
the windows opened, the picture hung,
the argument quelled, the crisis averted,
and the spirit work she has done you may
never know and yet she is the reason you
stand tall.
