Ken Craft
Jellybeans
Each Easter, the same three gifts:
a carton of Whoppers malted milk balls,
a cellophane package of Peeps,
and a bag of jellybeans, most of which,
once out of the bag, Gram herself eats –
except for the licorice ones,
which remain in Easter basket grass
like black scat.
Ken Craft, a poet living in Maine, is the author of Reincarnation & Other Stimulants, his third poetry collection.
